Three Israelis have reportedly been attacked with a sharp object in the Cypriot capital Nicosia, according to local media.
One of the victims sustained an ear injury and received medical treatment, reports said on Wednesday. The attack is said to have taken place in the city centre.
Police launched a manhunt and later arrested two suspects. They said that both men are of Syrian origin and are being held for questioning.
Israeli ambassador to Cyprus, Oren Anolik, confirmed the incident on X. He said he was "deeply shocked" by the attack on Israeli citizens, who were targeted "solely because of their obvious Jewish identity."
Anolik added that anti-Semitic violence of this kind had no place in Cyprus.
