
Kota Kinabalu: The leading and oldest newspaper in Sabah, Daily Express Malaysia, and its sister paper, the Overseas Chinese Daily News (OCDN), won the main journalism awards for English and Chinese at the Kinabalu Press Awards 2024 on Sunday night.
A Daily Express team consisting of Larry Ralon, Cynthia D. Baga, Sohan Das, Anthea F. Peter, and Sherell Ann Jumin Jeffrey, won the English main journalism award with their entry entitled “Double Six Declassified Series”.
OCDN Special Writer Siong Yin Hua won the main award for the Chinese category with her feature on national secondary schools and independent secondary schools in Sabah evolving with changing times.
The Daily Express also won a merit award for News Reporting on a failed attempt to topple the State Government and another merit for Business and Economic Reporting on proving that RM5 meals were possible.
