
KENINGAU: Damage to the substation transformer at Taman Fajar, here, on Friday caused residents of the residential area and its surroundings to endure about a six-hour blackout.
Yazid Hasnan Tawik, a resident and also Bingkor Community Welfare Association Chairman, said prompt action by Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) Manager Eric Dolinting was able to restore the supply at 4.15pm after changing the damaged transformer.
Yazid thanked SESB for its high commitment to resolve the problem.
According to him, the substation transformer exploded around 6.30am.

“SESB staff were able to repair the transformer but it exploded again and the electricity supply was cut off for about six hours,” he said, Saturday.
Yazid said the supply was finally restored at 4.15pm after the damaged transformer was replaced with a new one.
