DAP has expressed full support for Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun to continue leading the state administration, even in the event of a minority government.
DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke said the party rejects any attempt to topple the current state government.
He stressed that any move to replace the Menteri Besar must follow proper constitutional procedures, either through a vote of no confidence in the State Legislative Assembly (Dewan Undangan Negeri, DUN) or upon the directive of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, requesting that the position be vacated.
“For us, the position of the Menteri Besar can only be changed through two avenues. There are two precedents: first, removal via a motion or vote in the state assembly, such as when a confidence motion fails.
“Whether we agree or not, this has happened before in Perak, when assembly members withdrew their support and sought an audience with the ruler.
“If the ruler consents to appoint a new Menteri Besar, then the position of the incumbent would be affected,” he said at a press conference held at the Menteri Besar’s official residence here. – April 27, 2026
