
PETALING JAYA: Police are investigating Ipoh Timor MP Howard Lee over a TikTok video in which he allegedly used Quranic verses to urge Muslims to support the unity government.
Perak police chief Yusri Hassan Basri said a report had been lodged against the DAP central executive committee member, adding that the case is now in Bukit Aman’s hands.
“We have referred this case to Bukit Aman to carry out an investigation,” he told FMT.
An investigation is reportedly being carried out by Bukit Aman’s classified crime investigation unit (USJT).

Perak Jabat president Amiruddin Daud said the interpretation of any verses of the Quran should only be made by experts in the field, not non-Muslims.
The video appears to have been taken down.
