KOTA KINABALU: DAP will adopt a practical approach in the coming state election by contesting only in constituencies where it has grassroots strength, said national secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook.

Speaking to reporters after the Bas.My soft launch, he confirmed that Tanjung Aru will be among the seats contested, while talks are still ongoing for several more, mainly in urban areas.

Loke said the party is targeting between eight and ten seats, noting that it contested seven and won six in the last state election.

He added that discussions within Pakatan Harapan (PH)-Barisan Nasional (BN) and other coalition partners are still underway before final decisions are made.

On development matters, he said the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has set a maximum building height of 88 metres for the KK-1 development area near the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA), balancing safety with urban growth.
