
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Democratic Action Party (DAP) Women’s Convention will be held this Sunday (Jan 19) at Sabah International Convention Centre simultaneously with the Sabah DAP Socialist Youth event at 10am.
Speeches will be given by Clare Taunek (Sabah DAP Women’s Chief), then followed by Vivian Wong (Sabah Dapsy Chief), Woo Kah Leong (National Dapsy Chief), Teo Nie Ching (National DAP Women’s Chief) and concluded with the opening speech by the Sabah DAP Chairman, Phoong Jin Zhe.

Throughout Sabah, Wanita DAP Sabah has 9 divisions, namely Sandakan, Batu Sapi, Tawau, Kota Marudu, Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Keningau and Tenom, with the addition of two new divisions, namely Sepanggar and Batu Sapi, last year.

“Among the proposals to be brought by the Sabah DAP Wanita Committee is a recommendation that 30 percent of women be at the decision-making group level in the party, and to maintain 30 percent of women’s participation as candidates in the general election and state elections,” she said in a statement.
