KUALA LUMPUR - DAP Youth today hit back at Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Azmin Ali for asserting that the party had been rejected by the business and Chinese communities following its poor showing in the Sabah polls.

In a statement today, the wing’s chief, Woo Kah Leong, said Azmin should instead examine why his own party, Bersatu, faced similar rejection from voters.

At the Nov 29 election, DAP lost all eight seats it contested, while Bersatu was defeated in 33 of its 33 contested seats.

PN, the coalition led by Bersatu, secured only one of the 41 seats it contested, with 36 of its candidates losing their deposits.

“This is akin to seeing the speck in another’s eye and not the plank in your own.

“Azmin should look into why PN candidates lost their deposits instead of trying to highlight the speck in our eyes,” Woo said

Earlier, Azmin, claimed that DAP and Pakatan Harapan’s disappointing results reflected the public’s desire for significant change.

Meanwhile, Woo also contrasted how the two parties responded to electoral losses. DAP convened to review its performance and pledged to advance its reform agenda, with party secretary-general Loke Siew Fook taking full responsibility.

“Bersatu, on the other hand, witnessed 20 divisions demanding Muhyiddin Yassin’s resignation as president. No post-mortem and no follow-up action. Instead, they just talk about DAP. That’s how Bersatu reacted after the polls,” Woo added. - December 4, 2025
