Rules are upheld through verbal warnings, written reprimands, suspensions, or lawful administrative steps.
Unauthorized physical contact or corporal punishment potentially could expose you to legal, civil, and criminal liability.

The most that the government or your superiors should do is issue a letter of reprimand with a warning to you not to repeat the offense.
The government cannot do or take any actions more than a letter of reprimand because they are responsible for the persistent smuggling that is happening not only in KLIA but also in many other border crossings.
Remember the news in June 2023 where the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, of was accused of barging into the KLIA Terminal 1 restricted arrival zone without a permit to "free" a detained Chinese national.
The Minister claimed that his presence exposed chronic abuse of power and corruption within the airport's immigration division, alleging that officers demanded bribes ranging from RM3,000 to RM12,000 from arriving foreigners.
The Minister, reportedly said he did not want to expose the incident, and believed that it was insiders who leaked the photo of him at the airport and he called on the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to investigate the distribution of the photo and the false information.
The Minister further added that he doesn’t know their intention but they may have been worried that their ‘rice bowl’ may be affected and or they could also be trying to protect their friends by leaking information, making baseless accusations and spreading false reports.
Since that incident in June 2023, was anything done or measures implemented to tighten things at KLIA?

Obviously ZERO, otherwise the pilot, who was arrested by Customs in Indonesia in early Aug 2026, would not have managed to pass through KLIA and smuggled drugs in his luggage.
And after that case in early Aug 2026, again looks like nothing was done by the government.
For Dato’ Sri Mohd Shuhaily Zain, it appears that the same MODUS Operandi is now being exacted on him like how it was used on the Minister of Tourism in June 2023.
Those corrupt officer are worried that their rice bowl would be affected and they are helping their friends by leaking the video of Dato Sri Mohd Suhaily Zain making baseless accusations and spreading false information.
Malaysian Communication nd Multiledia Commission (MCMC) should investigate the distribution of the video that went viral and the false information if the government is sincere and truly wants to weed corruption and corrupt activities from the frontline enforcers.
When smugglers know that border guards can be bribed, it undermines even the most advanced security technologies, biometric tracking, and physical barriers.
Smuggling cartels often have massive budgets and can offer border officials bribes that dwarf their legitimate annual government salaries.
