Datuk Seri charged with using forged invoices as genuine

Kuala Lumpur: A director of a housing company with a “Datuk Seri” title pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court here Friday to using as genuine forged invoices three years ago.

Chin Kok Foong, 46, was alleged to have used a forged invoice, dated Sept 28, 2019, and May 5, 2020, belonging to APC Builder & Construction Sdn Bhd at a premises in Jalan Stesen Sentral 2 here in October 2020.

The charge, framed under Section 471 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 468 of the same law, provides imprisonment for up to seven years and fine, if found guilty.

Magistrate Nadia Othman set bail at RM3,500 with one surety and fixed March 21 for mention. Prosecuting officer ASP P.Nom Phot prosecuted, while lawyer Wan Muhd Ariff Ameer Wan Normazlan represented Chin.
