Davao received P53B in public funds from the national government since 2022—Castro

MANILA, Philippines — Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro dispelled claims that no government funding was allocated for Davao City for four years.

In a statement on Friday, Castro claimed that the city and its villages received continuous funds from fiscal year 2022 to 2026.

“From 2022 to 2026, the total National Tax Allotment (NTA) for Davao City and its barangays reached P52.80 billion,” Castro said in Filipino.

Of that amount, she said, P41.63 billion went to the Davao City Government, while the combined NTA of Davao City's villages totaled P11.17 billion.
