Foreign secretary David Lammy laughed off Donald Trump’s threat to seize Greenland, describing the president-elect’s plans as “classic Donald Trump”.
Trump said this week that he could not assure the world he would not resort to military action or economic coercion to get control of Greeland and the Panama Canal.
Appearing on Sky News on Thursday (9 January), Mr Lammy said: “It’s classic Donald Trump.”
Germany and France have warned Trump against threatening Greenland but Mr Lammy said he would not be doing the same.
