After hectic campaigning and a day after polling for the municipal polls, the candidates speculated the low turnout in wards and polling booths, and spent time with their supporters and friends.
The results will be declared on May 13. The poll is being viewed as a direct contest between the BJP and Congress.
Some candidates called a meeting of their supporters and assessed the votes cast per booth. Intelligence agencies were also preparing reports about the polls on Monday.
BJP mayoral candidate Rajiv Jain held a meeting with members of the booth management committees and discussed all aspects, including campaigning and voting. Jain cycled in his vicinity and met people residing in the area. He was seen confident about his win, despite the low turnout.
Congress mayoral candidate Kamal Diwan also held meetings with his supporters and discussed the voting scenario.
