DBKK recognised as Smart City Early Adopter

Kota Kinabalu: City Hall (DBKK) has been recognised as a Smart City Early Adopter 2025, in conjunction with the celebration of World Town Planning Day, National Planning Congress and MyCity Expo 2025, at Dewan Seri Siantan, Putrajaya Corporation, Tuesday.

The event was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and attended by Housing and Local Government Minister Ng Kor Ming and Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

DBKK was among 27 local authorities (PBTs) across Malaysia that received recognition under the Malaysia Smart City Rating Awards 2025.

The award was received by DBKK Director-General Datuk Sr Lifred Wong, who represented the Mayor of Kota Kinabalu.

Also present were City Planning Department Director Tantinny Fung Chew Li and officers from DBKK City Planning Department.

The recognition was granted in acknowledgement of DBKK’s commitment and continuous efforts in implementing smart city initiatives that promote sustainable development, service efficiency and the overall wellbeing of the city’s community.

This achievement reflects DBKK’s strong dedication to advancing the smart city development agenda and its active role as a key driver of smart city initiatives in Kota Kinabalu.
