Previously, we shared an incident involving a Malaysian woman who found her car scratched in Bukit Bintang after refusing to pay an exorbitant RM15 to parking touts illegally collecting parking fees in the area.

The incident has since caught the attention of the newly appointed Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Dr Zaliha Mustafa, who swiftly took action.

Taking to her official X account, she instructed the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to step up patrols and surveillance around the capital against parking touts causing concerns among the people.

She asserted, “In the past few days, I have seen many complaints regarding the issue of parking touts in Kuala Lumpur. I have instructed DBKL to step up surveillance and patrol and take action against these parking touts’ activities.”

“Incidents such as these shouldn’t happen. I appreciate all your suggestions and views. I will go through them one by one and take appropriate action accordingly.”

Former Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa was appointed Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) in a recent Cabinet reshuffle.

In case you didn’t know, the Federal Territories’ Ministry was scrapped by the Unity Government following the initial Cabinet appointment post-15th General Election (GE15). However, the portfolio was brought back following the reshuffle, though in the form of a ministry under the Prime Minister’s Department.
