DBKL Officer Fined After Viral Complaint Over Rubbish Thrown From Official Vehicle
A Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) enforcement personnel has been issued a compound after a viral complaint alleged that rubbish was thrown from an official department vehicle.

According to DBKL, the incident happened on Jun. 21, 2026, and later went viral on social media.

In a Facebook statement, DBKL said it took the matter seriously and immediately summoned the staff member involved to provide an explanation.

Following that, DBKL said the staff member was issued a compound under Section 47(1)(e) of the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974.

DBKL did not state the amount of the compound in its statement.

DBKL said it emphasises integrity, discipline and professionalism among its staff when serving Kuala Lumpur residents.

It added that it would not compromise on actions that could affect the organisation’s image, and said it would continue strengthening compliance with rules and work governance from time to time.

The Facebook post also included photos showing the staff member holding what appeared to be the compound notice.
