David de Gea admits the players failed Manchester United after Sunday's 7-0 humiliation at Liverpool.
De Gea took to social media to apologise to fans in the aftermath.
He said: "I know these messages don't do well on a day like this.
"For us it was a moment disastrous and these results shouldn't happen, especially with the path we're all on.
"We have a duty to this club, a responsibility to represent Manchester United, but we have so many opportunities to look ahead, so many games come quickly and we need to focus on these."
