
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Rubber Industry Board (LIGS) has signed an agreement with the State Government to plant Musang King durian over 72 acres as part of the Mini Estate Sejahtera (Mesej) programme in Angalor, Kemabong, Tenom.
LIGS Chairman Edward Linggu said the project aims to raise the economy of the local villagers and offer a new source of income, adding that it was in tandem with the Government’s aspiration to fully eradicate poverty.
He added that the board is still in the process of vetting applicants and it has been proposed that each participant will be entitled to 100 durian trees.
