According to news report, the 3 men involved in the viral restaurant brawl in Kepong were charged on 14 May 2026 under Section 326 of the Penal Code which if convicted, they face up to 20 years in prison, and are also liable to a fine or whipping.
It was also reported that all 3 pleaded not guilty after the charge was read out to them and bail were denied by the Sessions judge due to the severity of the offense and concerns over the victim's safety, and are awaiting their next court date for document submission.
The DPP in the matter, rightfully, objected to any bail, arguing that the offence was serious and non-bailable and that there is a risk they may flee and interfere with the victim.
The victim has since spoken out revealing that the brutal attack was completely unprovoked and has left him traumatised, in physical pain, and fearful for his family’s safety.
The public wish to know are the 3 men still under remand and kept in prison awaiting for their next court date?
Since the video went viral, the public, especially those staying in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur lived in constant fear, worrying that they could be the next unsuspecting victim.
The victim in this particular case hopes for swift resolution and the 3 perpetrators jailed for their heinous act.
Prolonged delays in the prosecution trapped the victim in emotional limbo, cause crucial evidence and witness testimonies to degrade, and ultimately lead to a profound denial of justice.
