The public fully supports what you said in your response.
The public now wish to know, assuming if UMNO/BN were to be voted in at the 16th GE and if politicians who are not part of the ruling government at that point are being investigated and hauled to Courts, are you going to stand up and call for the government of the day, led by UMNO/BN to be fair and not to investigate and charge those who are not part of the ruling coalition?
The public expects you to practice what you preach and espoused recently at the International Young Future Leaders Summit (iFUTURE) 2026 that, most importantly, no institution, no government agency should be used or weaponised for anyone's political benefit even if the ruling government at that point is from your party, UMNO.
To the public, they do not care whether it is political persecution or selective persecution.
If the investigations confirmed that the said politician did commit corrupt acts and the AG decides to proceed and initiate charges, charging the said politician is appropriate.
Not charging or delay in charging the said politician is a travesty of justice when actions are taken in lightning speed when it comes to the ordinary rakyat for similar acts.
For the public, "political persecution" and "selective persecution" are those when the authorities acted against groups like Persatuan Aktivis Sahabat Alam (Kuasa), Bersih, C4, Mandiri, Suaram, and several others.
What did these groups do that warrant them to be persecuted?
They did not commit any corrupt acts or stole tax payers monies.
All they did was to fight for and promote good governance in the adminstration of this country.
Yet, they are hounded and persecuted worse than those politicians who you alleged are being persecuted selectively and for political purposes.
