When the 10th PM revealed publicly that he has ordered the country’s security forces to be alert against those stirring up racial and religious rhetoric recently, every right thinking and peace loving Malaysians should sit up and take notice.

Get out of that shell we have been hiding behind all these while.

Let’s be proactive.

Shout out and tell our fellow Malaysians everything positive about this country.

Shout out and tell the bigots and selfish politicians, who are in the minority and just a miniscule part of the total population that this country belongs to all of us, the 32 million Malaysians.

Shout out and tell these bigots and those bent on destroying the country – again only a miniscule of them – that 32 million Malaysians want peace, stability and harmony in this country.

If they disagree, let the 32 million Malaysians know and we will show them the door in the 16th GE.

There are so many things wrong in this country at present.

Were there any improvements for the last 30+ years?

Yes we have improved in connectivity.

Yes we have some buildings that still ranks amongst the top 10 tallest in the world.

Yes, we have abundance of natural resources.

Yes, our nation is blessed from almost all natural calamities that befell other nations.

Yes, we still get flooded every year but this could have been better managed and damages minimized if we have responsible and caring leaders.

Yes, we have a lot of talent.

But we love to close the doors on them and pushed them away.

Not for anything but out of pure jealousy that these talents will get to outshine the lackadaisical and selfish leaders in this country in their endeavors.

Yes, the leaders praised them for their achievements overseas but it is all superficial.

If the leaders are sincere in retaining talents, they would have implemented policies and incentives to ensure Malaysians remains and continue to stay in this country.

Not to offer incentives and other goodies to lure them back after they have left.

Offering incentives and other goodies to lure them back only deprived those talents staying behind.

Who in their right mind, if not for getting married to a foreigner, would not love to stay in this country?

If not, mothers of children born to a foreign spouse would not have to fight tooth and nail for their children to be recognized and given Malaysian citizenship for the last 2 decades.

Yes we are growing as a nation but this nation is increasingly being tested.

The fabrics that hold this nation together is increasingly fraying at the seams.

Are Malays losing political power?

The person who said this was governing this country for 22 years and 22 months.

During his first stint governing for 22 years, he ruled with an iron fist.

Those who dissented would be shunted and cold storage.

Malays should be lamenting why, after being governed for 22 years by the same person, why is he lamenting, only now, that Malays are losing political power?

They should be asking him why and what was he doing for the 22 years.

He started his political career in the 60s blaming the non Malays for the plight of the Malays.

He has the chance to correct this plight when he became the Prime Minister in 1981 until he retired 22 years later.

In fact, he was the longest serving Prime Minister in this country.

And today, in 2023, 42 years later where he was governing this country for more than half of this time, he still laments that Malays, the people that he constantly and avowed to champion from the day he joined politics to until now will soon lose political power.

Instead of narrowing and bridging the chasm between different ethnicities in this country, he increasingly widen it, constantly reminding the Malays their position and way of life is being threatened by non existent threats at every available opportunity.

What was his legacy after 22 years?

Groomed a succession of leaders whose only success in governing is propelling the country into the pantheon of grand thefts of public monies.

And driving the country down the road of mediocrity, sinking lower than some of our neighbours whose GDP are not even half of ours when the country was governed by this same leader.

In 1984, 3 years after this leader became the Prime Minister, the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was valued at US$33 billion with a per capita income of US$2,311 per year while Vietnam's GDP was valued at US$18.1 billion with a per capita income of US$200 and US$300 per year.

40 years later, in 2021 the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was valued at US$372 billion with a per capita income of US$11,109 per year while Vietnam's GDP was valued at US$366 billion with a per capita income of US$3,756 per year.

According to the IMF, by 2025, Vietnam will rise to the 3rd position in Southeast Asia in terms of economic size with a GDP of $571.12 billion, trailing behind Indonesia ($1.63 trillion) and Thailand ($632.45 billion) while surpassing Malaysia ($556 billion), the Philippines ($523.53 billion), and Singapore ($496.81 billion).

The Center for Economic and Business Research (CEBR) forecast that by 2036, Vietnam's economy will surpass Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, and Australia.

The statistics are there for all to see.

This country has been governed by almost the same set of leaders for the last 40 years.

If there is any failure, it is their fault.

They failed and mismanage the country.

And now they are desperately trying to convince the people that the present unity government who was only governing for less than half a year is going to leave the people and the county poorer.

It is obvious that they do not have the best interests of the rakyat and country in their hearts.

They do not want the present unity government to undo the 40 years of damages that they did to the country.

Yes, the performance of the present unity government has nothing much to shout about but then it is only 4 months old.

For 40 years we did not scream and shout for all the misdeeds and thefts committed by the previous successive governments.

We kept quiet, remaining indifferent even though year in year out, the annual reports by the Auditor General revealed massive thieving of the country’s financial resources.

And now we murmur in quiet of our discontent with a 4 month old government.

Do we expect better things from this present government?

Looking at other countries that slide down the path to mediocrity, they never come back.

And it looks like the country will face the same thing.

The only thing we can hope for is for the present unity government to stop the rot in its tracks and pray for a miracle.

If the silent majority refused to help and shout out and let the minority and miniscule section of our society out drown them listening to the same group of people who was responsible in bringing the country to where it is today, we can’t blame anyone except ourselves.

The country has witnessed the alternative available as they governed this country since 2020 until GE15.

The choice is very clear.
