Zetrix AI Bhd and its unit MyEG Sdn Bhd were suspended as collection agents for the Road Transport Department (JPJ) on 5 Oct 2026 after failing to remit RM314 million in collected revenue to the government.
That was the headline 2 weeks ago.
Lost in the midst of the headline grabbing news was the fact that MyEG was also appointed and act as collecting agent for,
- Polis Dir Raja Malaysia (PDRM)
- zakat agencies such as PPZ, LZS, PKZP, MAINJ, MUIS, TBS, Zakat MAINPP, MAIAMP, MAIK, LZNK and MAINS,
- Jabatan Insolvensi for enables the public to identify the bankruptcy status of individuals and liquidation status of companies,
- SSM for company searches
- Jabatan Immigresen for application and renewal of Foreign Worker Insurance and renewal of Foreign Worker Permit
Are all these services offered by Zetrix AI Bhd/MyEG suspended by the above agencies or they are still ongoing?
As at todate, none of the above agencies reported any outstanding dues.
Does this mean there are no outstanding owing?
If the Transport Minister had not revealed that JPJ issued 35 reminders over a period of 3 months to Zetriz AI Bhd for them to pay up, the public would not have known that the company owed JP RM314 million.
As reported by a business daily, Zetrix AI Bhd’s position is increasingly becoming more vulnerable by the day given that the company is in a potential breach of its RM2 billion sukuk covenant and while still owing JPJ RM314 million.
If the company were to default and has no ability to pay off the above 2 outstanding, its ability to pay off any outstanding due to all the above agencies from (1) to (5) above would be in serious jeopardy.
Under such circumstance, what and where can these agencies seek remedy for the oustanding which are due to them, if any?
All these are tax payers funds.
Should the Ministers in charge of these agencies be held responsible for the amounts not collected?
