The remand for the first suspect in the murder investigation of a Form Two student in Kuala Pilah has been extended until October 8.

SEREMBAN: The remand for the first suspect detained to assist in the investigation into the death of a Form Two male student in Kuala Pilah on Sept 25 has been extended by seven days, from tomorrow until Oct 8.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the application to extend the suspect’s remand was made at the Kuala Pilah Magistrate’s Court here this morning.

Alzafny said the 16-year-old male suspect is being remanded to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code, while another student, a Form Four student is remanded until this Saturday.

Yesterday, Alzafny reported that 69 statements had been recorded and to date, five students have come forward to the police claiming to have been bullied by one of the two students detained in connection with the death of the Form Two student in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, last Friday.

Alzafny had previously said the police were informed of an incident involving injuries sustained by a Form Two student at a school in Kuala Pilah.

The victim was taken to Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital (HTAN) in Kuala Pilah, where he was pronounced dead.
