MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Fire Protection-Central Luzon on Thursday confirmed a fifth fatality from a building that collapsed in Balibago, Angeles City, Pampanga.
At 7:57 a.m. on Thursday, the BFP recovered the body of a male victim from the building wreckage.
“As of [7:57 a.m. on] May 28, 2026, the body of one (1) male victim has been recovered, making it this incident's 5th casualty,” the bureau said in a Facebook post.
Rescue operations shifted to retrieval mode on Monday.
Sixteen more remain missing.
