Barcelona are making a sale ultimatum to Frenkie de Jong.
Sport says with Manchester United continuing to monitor developments, Barca sporting director Deco wants to extend De Jong's contract as soon as possible.
However, De Jong is not yet ready to start negotiations over a new contract.
His current deal extends to June, 2026.
Barcelona wants to know which players they can count on in the long term. They therefore will sell De Jong this summer, if he has not agreed to an extension before the end of the season.
Barcelona were close to selling De Jong in the summer of 2022. United had a bid accepted, but the player snubbed the move.
