Deco has been named new sporting director of Barcelona.
It's also been announced football chief Mateu Alemany will leave the next month.
Barca said in a statement today: "FC Barcelona and Anderson Luis de Souza 'Deco' have reached an agreement for his incorporation into the Club.
"The first team player between 2004 and 2008 signs the contract as sports director of the Club for the next three seasons.
"Deco will be in charge of marking the sports philosophy of FC Barcelona and making the squad together with coach and coaching staff and becoming the head of the soccer section.
"This incorporation agrees with the statement that was issued on May 2 in which president and the director of the Soccer Area, Mateu Alemany agreed to untie their responsibilities once the current transfer market ended on September 2.
"According to the aforementioned statement, Deco and Mateu Alemany will work together until the end of the summer market
"In the coming weeks, the Club will detail the sports structure of FC Barcelona."
