PUCHONG - The Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) has announced the return of its flagship Selangor Deep-Tech Xccelerator (Deep-X) programme, with applications now officially open for its latest cohort.
Positioned as one of Malaysia’s leading deep-tech accelerator programmes, Deep-X continues to play a pivotal role in nurturing high-impact startups leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) driven startups in various verticals such as biotechnology, agritech, semiconductors, robotics, and sustainability solutions and others to solve complex global challenges.
Powering Deep-Tech Innovators for Global Impact
Deep-X is a 12-week intensive accelerator programme designed to support startups at the intersection of science, engineering, and advanced technologies. Participants gain access to expert mentorship, industry networks, technical validation, and commercialisation pathways to accelerate their journey from innovation to market readiness.
The programme focuses on startups within Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 4–7 all the way to pre-commercialization level (TRL 6-8), ensuring founders are equipped to transition from proof-of-concept to scalable, investment-ready solutions.
Proven Track Record of Success
Since its inception, Deep-X has demonstrated strong impact within Malaysia’s startup ecosystem:
● 8 cohorts successfully completed
● 1129 applications received
● 270 startups nurtured
● RM204 million in total funds raised
These milestones reflect Sidec’s commitment to building a robust pipeline of deep-tech companies capable of competing on a global stage. Deep-X 2025 partnered with over 30 ecosystem players, including 10 venture capital firms such as Artem Ventures, Gobi Partners, 500 Global, GenAI Fund, and PNSB, underscoring Sidec’s strong commitment to providing its cohort participants with direct access to funding and investment opportunities.
As part of the programme, the 2025 cohort participated in an industry visit to Singapore, including a visit to Google Cloud’s office and a VC engagement session with Plug and Play,
reflecting Sidec’s commitment to connecting startups with global industry leaders and investors to accelerate growth.
The most recent cohort under the Selangor Twin Accelerator Programme 2025 saw outstanding deep-tech startups emerge as top performers from Deep-X programme, including:

● Viucom
● Paix Tech
● CourtIQ
● Flow Studios
These startups showcased innovations across AI, smart city solutions, and advanced technologies, highlighting Malaysia’s growing depth in high-value innovation.
A key differentiator of Deep-X is its strong international exposure component. In the latest cohort, selected startups participated in the Sidec World Satge Venture, an international innovation South Korea trip, where Sidec led a delegation to Daegu and Seoul, South Korea.
The mission culminated at the Plug & Play Korea Summit 2025, held alongside the Future Innovation Tech Expo (FIX) 2025. Throughout the programme, Malaysian startups were given the opportunity to:
● Pitch to international investors and ecosystem players
● Engage with global corporates and innovation leaders
● Participate in curated networking and business matching sessions
● Gain exposure to advanced ecosystems in AI, deep tech, and digital infrastructure
Beyond the summit, the delegation undertook strategic industry visits with organisations such as Bigbang Angels, Global Startup Center (GSC), and Empyrion Digital, gaining valuable insights into startup funding models, acceleration ecosystems, and next-generation digital infrastructure.
These engagements provided founders with hands-on international exposure, enabling them to refine market strategies, benchmark globally, and build meaningful cross-border partnerships.
Sidec continues to expand global pathways for startups through its World Stage Venture platform, connecting Malaysian innovators to key markets including Silicon Valley, Japan, Taiwan, Dubai and many more.
