Gilat Satellite Networks has secured a contract valued at more than $7 million to supply the U.S. Department of Defense with solid-state power amplifiers. The agreement, awarded through a prime contractor, focuses on the company’s EnduroStream product line and will be fulfilled over a 24-month period.

The development comes as military demand for reliable satellite communication systems continues to rise. Gilat, headquartered in Petah Tikva, Israel, has seen strong financial momentum, with revenue growing by nearly 48% over the past year, reflecting broader activity across its defense and commercial segments.

Defense Contract Centers on Next-Generation Amplifier Technology

The newly awarded contract involves EnduroStream solid-state power amplifiers designed for high-power and mission-critical applications. These systems are intended to replace traditional traveling wave tube amplifiers in satellite gateways and terminals, according to Reuters.

The shift toward solid-state technology reflects evolving operational needs in military communications. Solid-state amplifiers are valued for their durability and resilience, particularly in environments where consistent performance is required. According to a company statement, the technology is engineered to meet stringent power and reliability standards in modern defense satellite communications.

Edgar Khachatryan, president of Gilat Wavestream, said the order confirms demand for purpose-built solutions capable of supporting high-power requirements in military SATCOM systems. He emphasized that the amplifiers are designed to deliver both performance and resilience under demanding conditions.

The contract adds to a series of defense-related wins for Gilat, whose portfolio includes satellite terminals, antennas, and ground systems used across government and military applications.

Strong Financial Performance and Broader Strategic Momentum

The defense order comes amid a period of strong financial performance for the company. Gilat has delivered a 159% return to shareholders over the past year, reflecting investor confidence in its growth trajectory and expanding defense footprint.

Recent developments also include earnings results that exceeded analyst expectations in the fourth quarter, alongside a positive outlook for 2026. According to reports, Freedom Capital Markets upgraded the company’s stock rating from Hold to Buy following those results, citing stronger-than-expected revenue and earnings per share.

In parallel, Gilat has continued to secure additional contracts tied to satellite connectivity. One such agreement involved a multi-million dollar order for AeroStream Ka-band wideband amplifiers for in-flight connectivity, with deliveries also scheduled over a 24-month period, Reuters reported.

The company has also demonstrated advancements in next-generation communications, including 3GPP-compliant 5G non-terrestrial network connectivity over a geostationary satellite. According to Reuters, the demonstration validated key capabilities such as latency compensation and protocol optimization.

Together, these developments point to sustained activity across both defense and commercial segments. The latest U.S. military contract, while modest in size compared to the company’s overall market capitalization, underscores ongoing demand for specialized satellite communication hardware in defense operations.
