SIPITANG: A logging company was fined three buffaloes and two water filters and ordered to move from the Kampung Samin river catchment after polluting it.
Resident Jeniffer Opai said residents are grateful to the Daily Express for highlighting the problem.
“It is not the ‘sogit’ that was needed but rather the people want the pollution to be stopped because it caused various hardships and potential diseases,” she said.
Village Head Maripa Bangau emphasised that residents hoped the company in question immediately leave and stay away from the catchment area.
