MANILA, Philippines — Six more firearms belonging to Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa were surrendered to the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday, following the revocation of his license to own and possess firearms.
Dela Rosa’s legal representative turned over the firearms to members of the PNP Firearms and Explosive Office and the Regional Civil Security Unit 4A in Silang, Cavite. The firearms were at the residence of Dela Rosa’s counsel for safekeeping.
Dela Rosa already surrendered 26 firearms. He surrendered through his legal counsel 20 firearms on June 11.
The revocation order covers a total of 117 firearms registered under the senator’s name. The order was issued by the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office pursuant to Republic Act 10591 after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant against the lawmaker who, to this day, remains in hiding.
