The Delhi BJP on Sunday concluded its district-level training programmes under the Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya Maha Prashikshan Abhiyan, with newly appointed state president Harsh Malhotra stressing that the party’s mission goes beyond winning power to serving people and contributing to nation-building.

The training sessions, held across all 14 district units and 252 mandals in Delhi, form part of a nationwide organisational exercise conducted every three years to ideologically equip and train party workers. On the final day, Malhotra addressed workers in Chandni Chowk and Keshavpuram districts, outlining the BJP’s working style and organisational programmes planned for June.

Addressing the gathering, Malhotra said the BJP’s organisational culture is based on discipline, ideology and public service. Referring to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s vision, he said the party does not view power as an end in itself but as a means to serve society and help transform India into a developed nation and global leader.

He said the training programmes aim to strengthen workers’ understanding of the party’s ideology, objectives, organisational history, government achievements and the effective use of media and social media. Distinguishing between workshops and training sessions, Malhotra said workshops focus on specific campaigns or issues, while training programmes seek to prepare and empower workers ideologically.

The BJP leader also stressed the need to strengthen organisational practices and said party offices should function as centres of public service where citizens can raise grievances and interact with elected representatives.

Outgoing Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, who addressed sessions on worker development and welfare, highlighted the importance of transparency, collective functioning and organisational support. He said every worker has the potential to become a leader by following the “7-D Formula” — Dream, Desire, Direction, Dedication, Determination, Discipline and Deadline.

Organisation General Secretary Pawan Rana, speaking at the concluding session, urged workers to avoid self-praise and criticism of colleagues, saying committed and ideal karyakartas are shaped through humility and dedication to organisational values.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, MPs, MLAs and other party functionaries attended the concluding sessions. The party said the training initiative aimed to strengthen organisational capacity and prepare workers for future political and public outreach programmes.
