
Delhi BJP leaders on Tuesday paid tributes to Punyashlok Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar on her 301st birth anniversary, describing her life and governance as a lasting source of inspiration for public service, women’s empowerment and nation-building.
Union Minister of State and Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra, Union Minister of State SP Singh Baghel and BJP OBC Morcha national general secretary Sangam Lal Gupta garlanded a portrait of Ahilyabai Holkar at a commemorative programme held at the Delhi BJP office.
Speaking on the occasion, Malhotra said Holkar’s life set an unparalleled example of dedication to Indian culture, public welfare and good governance. “She took charge during a challenging period and established an administration marked by justice, accountability and sensitivity towards people’s needs,” he added.
He further highlighted her role in preserving and rebuilding important religious and cultural sites, including Kashi, Somnath, Ujjain and Gaya, stating that her efforts continued to inspire generations. Baghel said the ideals of service, good governance and cultural pride exemplified by Ahilyabai Holkar remained relevant in India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.
Gupta said Holkar’s people-centric governance demonstrated how dedication and compassion could inspire positive social change. He added that her ideals continued to guide the India’s efforts towards building a self-reliant and harmonious nation.
