The Delhi Government will organise a large-scale Yamuna Riverfront Cleanliness Campaign on June 14 under the leadership of CM Rekha Gupta, aiming to restore the river’s ecological health, clean its banks and promote public awareness about environmental conservation.

The campaign will be held simultaneously across major Yamuna ghats in the national capital and is expected to witness participation from nearly 500 social, religious, educational and voluntary organisations, along with thousands of volunteers.

Announcing the initiative, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “The Yamuna is not merely a river but an integral part of Delhi’s cultural, religious and environmental heritage.”

She emphasised that safeguarding the river required active involvement from citizens alongside government efforts, adding, “Keeping the Yamuna clean is not a one-day campaign but a shared responsibility.”

According to the CM’s office, leanliness drives and awareness programmes will be conducted at several locations along the riverfront. Rekha Gupta will personally participate in the campaign and join citizens in efforts to strengthen the collective resolve for a cleaner Yamuna.
