The Delhi Police on Friday filed an appeal in the High Court against the bail granted to the accused by a lower court in connection with the sexual assault of a nursery child at a private school in west Delhi’s Janakpuri.
Meanwhile, a Delhi court sent the female teacher to judicial custody, after her police custody expired today.
Investigators said the teacher allegedly cleaned the child after the incident and failed to report it. The arrest was made based on evidence collected during the investigation. The teacher taught multiple subjects at the school.
Meanwhile, the opposition AAP is constantly raising the issue and questioned the silence of the ruling BJP government on the issue.
Targeting the Delhi Government’s response, AAP Delhi State president Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “On Thursday, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood spoke on this matter for the first time, even though this is a well-known school in his own Janakpuri area. The school is just two minutes away from his house. So he cannot claim that he does not know this school.”
Mentioning a social media post, Bharadwaj claimed, “In it, “Amarjeet Singh Babboo” is thanking the Minister for being appointed as a Trustee of SS Mota Singh School. This man is a close associate of Minister Parvesh Verma. So how could Parvesh Verma make him a trustee in a Trust worth nearly Rs 500 crore? Does the trust belong to Parvesh Verma?”
Refuting the claims, the office of Minister Parvesh Verma refuted the claims and said they were going into the details of the matter. Calling them baseless, the office said they were exploring the legal aspects.
