The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) on Thursday held a protest march from Indira Bhawan to the CBSE headquarters at Shiksha Sadan against the OSM policy for Class 12 students. Hundreds of NSUI members joined the march, raising slogans such as “We Reject OSM” and demanding the immediate withdrawal of the policy.

Heavy police deployment was seen outside the CBSE office as protesters attempted to march towards Shiksha Sadan to oppose the policy. NSUI leaders said the OSM system had created confusion and added pressure for lakhs of students preparing for board examinations.

Addressing the protesters, the NSUI national president criticised the policy and accused CBSE of experimenting with students’ futures.

“CBSE should not make students part of experimental policies. The OSM system is anti-student and has created uncertainty among students and parents across the country. NSUI completely rejects this policy and demands its immediate withdrawal. Students deserve a transparent and student-friendly examination system, not confusion and mental stress.”

He said NSUI would continue its nationwide agitation if CBSE failed to address the concerns raised by students and parents.

NSUI leaders and workers at the protest reiterated that the organisation stood firmly with students and would continue opposing policies that harmed their academic future. The protest remained peaceful amid heavy security outside the CBSE headquarters.
