Vice-President of India and Chancellor of the University of Delhi (DU), C P Radhakrishnan, has praised the university’s efforts under the Nasha Mukt Parisar Abhiyaan, saying the initiative is helping build awareness against drug abuse through student participation.
In a social media post, the Vice President recalled the launch of the Drug-Free Campus campaign and the e-pledge platform at the university earlier this year. He said the initiative was aimed at encouraging students to become ambassadors of a Nasha Mukt Bharat and actively oppose drug abuse.
Radhakrishnan noted that over 53,000 students have taken the mandatory anti-drug pledge through a collective effort by the university. He said such initiatives were important in building a healthier and stronger nation.
“More than 53,000 students have taken the mandatory pledge through a collective effort,” he said. The Vice-President urged universities and educational institutions across the country to join the campaign and encourage greater youth participation in the anti-drug movement. “Collective action and sustained awareness among the youth are essential to realising the vision of a drug-free India,” he said.
