Delta Air Lines resumes flights and launches first-ever nonstop Los Angeles-Manila route in 2027

MANILA, Philippines — Delta Air Lines will resume flights to Manila on March 28, 2027, by launching its first-ever direct, nonstop service between Los Angeles (LAX) and Manila (MNL).

According to Delta News Hub, this upcoming service marks the airline's official return to the Philippines.

Operating the flagship Airbus A350-900, Delta will become the only US carrier offering direct, trans-Pacific flights to Manila from the US mainland.

This new nonstop service establishes a vital link between Southern California and one of Asia's fastest-growing markets.

The service will initially start with a frequency of three times a week before ramping up to daily operations beginning June 7, 2027. Outbound flights are from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 11:50 p.m., while the return legs will leave Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at 7:40 a.m.

The United States has become the number one source market for tourist arrivals in the Philippines, according to data from the Department of Tourism.

In the first half of 2026, the Philippines welcomed nearly 3.2 million inbound tourists, with Americans accounting for over 591,500 visitors (roughly 20 percent of the market).

A significant portion of travelers coming from the United States consists of Filipino-Americans or overseas immigrants returning home to visit family (known as balikbayan), alongside traditional leisure vacationers attracted by closer bilateral ties and a highly favorable US dollar-to-Philippine peso exchange rate.

As one of Southeast Asia's premier commercial and cultural hubs, Manila attracts business travelers, tourists, and those visiting friends and family who are eager to experience its rich history, diverse cuisine, and vibrant neighborhoods.

As the country's primary international gateway, the city also serves as the perfect launching pad for journeys across the Philippines, opening doors to world-renowned island destinations and diverse landscapes.
