JAKARTA - Delta Air Lines began daily nonstop flights between Los Angeles International Airport and Hong Kong on June 6, opening a new transpacific service from its LAX hub using Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Delta had scheduled the route in a July 16, 2025, network announcement.
The service gives Delta a nonstop route between Southern California and Hong Kong. Delta said the flights use its flagship Airbus A350-900 aircraft and offer four cabin products: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main.
Delta said the Hong Kong route provides direct access to the city and gives passengers more than 30 one-stop connections through Los Angeles. The airline’s current LAX media kit lists 151 peak-day departures to 50 destinations from the airport.
“Launching service to Hong Kong and Chicago from LAX strengthens our presence in two of the world’s most dynamic markets,” said Paul Baldoni, Delta’s senior vice president of network planning. “As the largest global carrier at LAX, we’re continuing to invest in routes that matter to our customers and deliver the premium travel experience that they’ve come to expect from Delta.”
Passengers flying Delta One from Los Angeles to Hong Kong receive access to the Delta One Lounge at LAX. Delta said the lounge has nearly 200 seats, a year-round sushi bar, a rotating chef-curated menu and a wellness room with full-body massage chairs.
The route also adds freight capacity across the Pacific. Delta said the Airbus A350 used on the service can carry more than 20 tons of cargo per flight, including electronics, e-commerce shipments and perishables moving between Asia and North America.
Hong Kong adds to Delta’s long-haul Asia-Pacific services from Los Angeles. Delta’s LAX media kit lists Shanghai among its international destinations and says nonstop Los Angeles-Melbourne service began in December 2025.
The Hong Kong launch came one day before Delta began three daily flights between Los Angeles and Chicago O’Hare on June 7. Delta announced both routes as additions to its Los Angeles network, where it says it is the largest global carrier by seats and departures.
