Democrat Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed schooled a former Fox News host who conflated Twitch streamer Hasan Piker with President Donald Trump.
El-Sayed was in the ‘spin room’ after his debate with Republican candidate Mike Rogers for the Michigan seat when he was asked by NewsNation host Leland Vittert why Rogers has to answer for Donald Trump while El-Sayed does not have to answer for Piker, a controversial streamer who he had previously held events with but has now distanced himself from.
El Sayed replied “That’s a serious question? Well, Donald Trump is the president of the United States, which means he has significant power, including holding the nuclear football... to equate the most powerful person in the world with a streamer in California seems to me to be just a little – I’m not gonna use the word – but silly.”
