MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education has launched a web-based tutoring management platform designed to make tutor application, onboarding, deployment, attendance monitoring, and session tracking more efficient under the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program.
Called the ARAL TutorKo program, it would support the full tutoring cycle of the ARAL program which provides targeted learning interventions for learners who need additional support in foundational literacy and numeracy.
The platform was launched at the Putatan Elementary School in Muntinlupa City.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara said that the program will help make it easier for tutors, schools, and program managers to support learners under the ARAL Program.
"Through ARAL TutorKo, we are strengthening the system behind tutoring—from application and deployment to monitoring—so that more learners can receive the right support at the right time." Angara said.
The platform will help streamline tutor recruitment, screening, onboarding, lesson management, learner grouping, scheduling, attendance tracking, Daily Time Record submission, and report generation.
It also provides role-based access for administrators, coordinators, school heads, tutors, learners, and education officials at different governance levels.
TutorKo is expected to support real-time tracking of tutoring sessions, improve coordination across schools, divisions, regions, and the central office, and strengthen data-driven decision-making for ARAL implementation.
The program was developed through DepEd’s partnership with Thames International Inc. and LearnTalk Limited, which supports technology platforms for tutor recruitment and deployment, tutor assessment and training, and the development of remedial programs.
Angara said that every tutoring session is an opportunity for a child to catch up, better understand the lessons, and gain the confidence to keep learning.
"That is why it is important for us to support not only the learners, but also the tutors who dedicate their time, patience, and genuine care to helping them." he said.
