PENAMPANG: DESA Group has extended assistance to more than 290 flood victims from 75 families in Penampang, distributing 300 food baskets, rice, and bottled water through the district police headquarters on Monday.

Chief Executive Officer Emiliana Chin said the contribution was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts to ease the burden of those displaced and staying at temporary relief centres.

“As a company close to the hearts of Sabahans, we deeply sympathise with the hardships faced by flood victims. This contribution reflects our commitment to ensuring families at relief centres have sufficient food supplies,” she said.

Chin added that the initiative symbolised solidarity from DESA employees and underscored the management’s belief, led by Chairman Tan Sri Liew Yun Fah, that corporate responsibility goes beyond business to sharing in the struggles of the people.

She said DESA will continue to work closely with local authorities to ensure aid reaches those most in need.
