TUARAN: A mother here is desperate for answers regarding her son’s fate, fearing he has fallen victim to a human trafficking syndicate abroad since early January.

The family has sought assistance from various parties to locate the 30-year-old man, known as Lieyco, who is believed to be in Myanmar.

He initially told his family he was travelling to Bangkok in mid-2024, but they later grew suspicious when he suddenly became uncontactable.

The last communication was in early January when he mentioned being in Tachileik, Myanmar and requested help if he could not return home.

Tuaran MP Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau has been informed of the case and urged the family to lodge another police report to facilitate rescue efforts.
