Over the recent years, public transportation in Malaysia has been getting better, making it more convenient for locals to commute. To encourage locals to commute using public transport like the MRT or the train, parking spaces have also been provided near the stations with minimal parking fee.

Unfortunately for the Malaysian, what was supposed to be a fun day out with family had turned into something unforgettable and devastating.

M’sian finds out that her car tyres were stolen during broad daylight at KTM station

Speaking to Wau Post, Syahira shared that she and her husband had decided to take their children out on a family day. They wanted their children to experience what it’s like to ride a train, so they’ve decided to drive to the KTM station at Bukit Badak. Prior to this, Syahira mentioned that her husband would frequent this station as he commutes to work daily with the train.

“This is the first time where we headed to the station as a family”, she said recalling that they parked their car at around 12pm in the afternoon.

After paying RM5 for parking at the station, they went about their day, enjoying quality time with their children. However, as they headed back to the parking lot to retrieve their car at around 6:15pm, they were left devastated and shocked as they realised that their car tyres have been stolen.

Subsequently, Syahira shared in her tweet mentioning that they’ve made a police report and called KTM asking for clarification and compensation. To their dismay, they were not given a proper solution to solve the issue and was told that they would have to conduct an internal meeting before they’re able to give their decision regarding the compensation.

Other than that, Syahira has revealed that the condition of the station wasn’t well maintained as the lifts weren’t working. She shared that they had to resort to using the escalator while carrying their baby strollers causing a hassle.

“It’s already a hassle for us to carry our strollers onto the escalator, what about those who are on wheelchairs? Wouldn’t it be harder for them to access public facilities?”, she said.

Following her tweet, KTM berhad has replied to her tweet, informing her that her issue should be handled by a sub-company that manages the parking lot, to which she has sent an e-mail, requesting for a follow up on her case.

Have you ever encountered such issue when parking at a parking facility provided by a train station?
