DHL Supply Chain expanded its Asia-Pacific data center logistics network, adding over 160,000 square meters of dedicated capacity to capture the region’s growing digital infrastructure market.
The investment centers on emerging hubs like Malaysia and Thailand, where power availability and land incentives attract significant infrastructure capital.
Asia-Pacific is projected to secure $800 billion in data center investment by 2030, overtaking the United States as the world’s largest digital infrastructure market. This growth will drive the accompanying data center logistics sector from $23 billion in 2025 to $35 billion by 2030.
DHL operates 30,000 square meters of dedicated warehouse capacity across the region. The company committed an additional 130,000 square meters of built-to-suit developments in Malaysia and Thailand, scheduled to go live over the next two years.
To protect fragile infrastructure assets, DHL is training its workforce in specialized technical services. Teams will conduct server rack assembly, component mounting, cabling, and testing inside secure logistics hubs. Moving these complex engineering tasks away from active construction zones reduces installation risks and maintains build schedules.
“As the region enters this sustained phase of large-scale data center execution, customers need more than capacity; they need execution certainty,” said Javier Bilbao, CEO, Asia-Pacific, DHL Supply Chain. “Our investments in dedicated infrastructure and advanced white glove capabilities are designed to deliver that certainty.”
The expansion follows a parallel infrastructure buildout by DHL in North America, standardizing its services for global technology firms.
Amanda Rasmussen, chief commercial officer, DHL Global Forwarding, stated that the company is mobilizing capabilities across the group to support every stage of the data center lifecycle.
