The off contract PSG winger is set to sign for Juve over the weekend.
Di Canio told Sky Italia: "He is an outstanding, fantastic player. He was probably the only PSG star who gave everything, helped defensively, fell down when needed.
"It will be exciting to see.
"But I doubt one thing. I understand that he's only coming for a year. You know, it's the World Cup ... he does not back down, but when you are part of the project and sign a long-term contract it is different."
