The boxy Jetour T2 SUV has taken the world by storm, with over half a million units sold within its first three years of release.
It’s not easy to sell a ‘new name’ in the car market. Jetour had a double challenge in fact, as it is a relatively new brand and the T2 model is a completely new nameplate. Yet in under three years, this upstart has managed to move over half a million units worldwide. For a vehicle that isn’t particularly inexpensive, those are really impressive.
The success of the T2 is reflective of the meteoric rise of the Jetour brand itself. According to internal figures, Jetour has amassed over 2.2 million sales worldwide across its entire portfolio, making it the only carmaker to hit those sales numbers within 7 years of its founding. A key region for the T2 was the Middle East, with plenty of sales coming from the UAE, Qatar and Egypt. In other countries, such as Angola, Chile and South Africa, the Jetour T2 has swept up tonnes of local automotive awards.
In Malaysia, the Jetour T2 is sold with a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine from RM156,800 with a new i-DM PHEV option now open for booking with an estimated price of RM168,888. The 2.0L model is paired to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and has an output of 180kW and 375Nm of torque.
The T2 features a rugged, body design and is equipped to carry out light off-road duties thanks to its XWD intelligent four wheel drive system and 7+X one-touch off-road mode. It’s well-equipped with a 64″ panoramic sunroof, a 12-channel Sony speaker sound system, powered front seats with memory and ventilation function, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, a 50W wireless charging pad, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a large 15.6″ infotainment screen, multi-coloured ambient lighting, paddle shifters, and plenty of safety features including Autonomous Emergency Braking and six airbags.
We get the Jetour T2 in three colours: Khaki White, Carbon Black, and Aviation Silver.
