- Thousands of students across England, Wales and Northern Ireland are set to receive their A-level results on Thursday 13 August.
- While the head of Ucas, Jo Saxton, has said a record number of students are likely to be successful in securing their first-choice university, there are plenty of things you can do should you not meet the conditions of your offer.
- According to Ucas, clearing is available from 2 July-19 October to those who did not apply before 30 June, did not receive any offers, did not meet the conditions of their offers, or declined their “firm place”.
- The service recommends three steps during the clearing process, including checking listings of courses still available and getting in touch with the institution directly.
- Students in England can also ask their school or college to request that the marking be reviewed by the exam board, and there is also the option to appeal against the result.
