Diesel misappropriation: Two held in Penampang raid

PENAMPANG: Marine police arrested two men for allegedly misappropriating subsidised diesel in a raid at a store in Kg Minintod, here, on Wednesday.Acting on a tip-off, a team raided the store at 2.45pm.

Sabah (Region Four) Marine Police Commander ACP Ahmad Ariffin said the suspects were channelling fuel from a tank to a tanker lorry.

“Further checks led to the discovery of 13,400 litres of diesel along with oil drums, a pumping machine and hoses,” he said, Thursday.

He said the tanker lorry and a four-wheel drive vehicle were also seized, adding the seized items worth over RM184,000 will be handed over to the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry office here for further investigations under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
