Diesel price rises in peninsula, petrol rates unchanged

Peninsular Malaysia’s diesel price increases by four sen to RM2.96 per litre for the coming week, while petrol prices and other regional diesel rates remain steady.

KUALA LUMPUR: The retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will increase by four sen per litre for the coming week.

Effective from Feb 5 to 11, the price will rise to RM2.96 per litre from the previous rate.

The Ministry of Finance confirmed the price adjustment in a statement today.

Prices for diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan will remain unchanged at RM2.15 per litre.

The retail prices of RON97 and RON95 petrol will also stay the same nationwide.

RON97 will remain at RM3.10 per litre, while RON95 will be priced at RM2.54 per litre.

The subsidised price for RON95 under the BUDI95 initiative is also unchanged at RM1.99 per litre.

“The government will continue to monitor global crude oil price trends,” the ministry stated.

It added that appropriate measures would be taken to safeguard the welfare and well-being of the people.
