According to local news channel, Astro Awani, based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula, the price increase is standard to the market price. Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan also announced on a press conference that the implementation of the targeted subsidy can help the government save up to RM4 billion a year. With that said, the government will be offering a RM200 financial assistance to those who are eligible.
